1) Prescription medicine should be taken under doctor supervision as drug interactions or allergic reactions are possible.
2) It is likely that if you have old penicillin that you did not take the full course when it was prescribed earlier and this means you would most likely not have enough for a full course now.
3) Improper use of antibiotics can be harmful because overuse of anything can be toxic. Some drugs pose dangers to your kidneys or other organs.
4) Antibiotics also have the potential to disrupt the natural flora in your body. You need to have bacteria in your digestive tract to survive; killing it would be bad.
5) There is some validity to the claim that once the seal on a bottle of prescription drugs is broken, and the drug is exposed to an unpredictable environment, there is no certainty regarding the effectiveness of the drug.
The Food and Drug Administration, in conjunction with the Department of Defense did a study called the Shelf Life Extension Program (SLEP), which indicated that while some antibiotics lose some potency over long periods of time, most were largely effective longer than indicated on labels.
u can die instantly SO DONT DO IT !
It is extremely unlikely that you will 'die instantly' from taking expired medicine. If the penicillin has been stored well, and we're only taking a few days to a week past expiration, it's probably perfectly fine. However, it is strongly advised that you get a new prescription - better safe than sorry with medications.
The same thing. (i've already done it) It works fine.
It is never a good idea to take expired medication.
Get really sick.
Nothing.
It depends. Many types of antibiotics must be refrigerated and used before the expiration date. It may lose strength and be ineffective so it's best to discard unrefrigerated and/or expired medicine.
I think when you take an expired panadol for when you have a cold, you might get sicker? or maybe nothing will happen to you depending on how healthy and strong you are?
Not very well
You can get sick
Most likely it's gone flat , or will make you sick to your stomach, and still do nothing. It's never a good idea to take expired drugs, and you should finish all the course of anti-biotics when prescribed anyway .
Allergic to penicillin can you take Methocarbamlo
can you take malarone if allergic to penicillin
can you take phentermine if you are allergic to penicillin?
Diabetes is not a contraindication for penicillin. You can safely take penicillin without regard to diabetes.
