Stolen then just report it to the police. Pawn shops keep records just for that reason so you can see the last person who had it and pawned since they have to sign a reciept before the pawnshop excepts the ring
If you have a receipt for it, they should compensate you for the value of its loss. If they wont do this to your satisfaction go and speak to a lawyer (attorney).
Unless it can be proven that the individual who stole it pawned it, you are out of luck.
Ask the pawn shop, they will tell you how much they will pay you for the ring.
In case you are pawning stolen items, the police and the pawn broker will know who you are.
Inform the police. Both the pawn shop and the individual selling it can be prosecuted.
Pawn shops are a legitimate business, and tightly regulated under state and Federal laws. To pawn anything, you will have to provide them with your ID. If a firearm has been reported to the police as stolen, information on that gun will be entered in the NCIC computer system. When you sell that stolen gun to the pawn shop, and they enter it into their inventory, the computer system recognizes it as a stolen firearm. You get visited by the police who arrest you for possession of stolen property.
Your answer is best available at your pawn shop of choice.
It could be a misdemeanor or a felony based on the dollar value of the stolen article.

You'd have to ask the pawn shop that question.
You could probably be arrested for possession/trafficking of stolen goods.
It depends on where you are. Here in Tennessee, nothing is required other than some form of ID, but the pawn shop will probably run a stolen firearms check on it.
