There are some good commercial products for damaged hair, but if you prefer not to use those, you can use olive oil. Simply warm the oil (not hot!), then apply to dry hair. Place a plastic shower cap over your hair, then wrap a warm towel around the shower cap to help retain the warmth. Let it remain on your hair for about 30 minutes, then shampoo as usual. You may have to shampoo twice to get all of the oil out, depending on how damaged or absorbent your hair is. Then follow up with a conditioner.

Can you straighten permed hair?

yes you can straighten permed hair; however, I suggest that you use a heat protecting spray because your hair is already damaged from the perm. Also I would recommend for you to use a leave in conditioner and once every two-weeks or so maybe every month deep condition your hair! You don't want to damage you hair too much.

What shampoo would you use for chemically damaged hair?

The best way to treat chemically damaged hair immediately is to use a damaged hair product such as H2 Ion. To prevent future chemically damaged hair, regulate the use of the chemicals you use to style your hair. You can start by limiting the use of perms, dyes, and relaxers to once every 8 to 10 weeks to give your hair time to recover between treatments. Another way to avoid chemically damaged hair is to follow the instructions on home perms and dyes to the letter, so that the chemicals don't sit too long on your hair.

How often should you use a protein hair treatment?

It really depends on the condition of your hair. If your hair is in bad condition then you should use it at least every 10 days. If your hair is a little dry and conditioner is not improving it then you should use it once a month. If your hair is in good condition use it very seldom because it will make no difference to the condition of your hair except to make it look greasy.

Unhealthy... no. It can however pull natural oils from your hair that are desired in nourished and healthy looking hair. If you shampoo daily, you should also condition daily to avoid a dry damaged looking head of hair. So: this is perfectly healthy!

Use plastic rollers with pins, don't condition your hair before you put them in because it will act as a barrier. Invest in a good treatment for your hair, go to the salon to see what they can recommend and go easy on the heat because that won't help.

What does chemically damaged hair mean?

It means that hair has been damaged by colour, perming lotions or relaxers (hairdressing chemicals). When you leave these things on the hair or use the wrong strength they damage the hair. They break the outside layer of the hair or they can destroy the hair.
