Boils can be very painful. I have had a few in my life time. I always heat a small wet towel in the microwave but do not let the towel get to hot. You don't want to burn yourself. Apply the warm towel as much as possible during the day, until the boil reaches a point that it starts to drain. Once the boil drains you can apply an antibiotic ointment to the boil. The boil should start feeling better after it has drained. If you want to permanently stop boils you can get a product that works from the inside to prevent you from getting boils I t really helped me. Ill give you the link down below.
