∙ 8y agoIf you have no children, it may be easy enough to use an online divorce document and to file it yourself at the courts. Shared debt, a jointly owned home, car and other property adds difficulty and it may be cheaper in the long run to get help or a legal review. You definitely would want to take care to remove your name from bank, credit and other accounts that you share with the other person. If you have direct deposit, set up a brand new account and change this with your employer. Review and change your beneficiaries on 401 Ks, insurance and so on.
