When she/he takes it ask when you can get it back. Most schools have a policy concerning phones and ipods so you shouldn't have had it at school. The teacher will keep it for the day and you ask him/her for it at the end of the day or collect it from the office. I usually gave a student one chance when I took away a phone/game/iPod that they could collect the item from me at the end of the day. The next time it would be in the office.
