Go to a doctor so they can confirm the type of parasitic worm and they should prescribe a dewormer. There are some over the counter treatments for other types of worms but not tapeworms.
Tape, advil, and a long pair of tweasers
Sounds like tapeworm from swallowing a flea. Call the vet. There is a pill that will kill the tapeworm, but it will come back if you don't get rid of the fleas. That is my problem - almost impossible to get rid of fleas.
You can but it is a lot easy with a knife and fork.
Oral medication is the way to get rid of a tapeworm. Ways you can get it is from animals that have the parasite. Insects like fleas give it to domestic animals like cats and dogs when they bite at them then people can get them in the excrement of the animals.
A tapeworm in a dog is called the same thing, a tapeworm. The most common kind of tapeworm found in dogs is the Dipylidium Caninum, which is the cucumber tapeworm or double-pore tapeworm.
It has nothing to do with the medication. Your dog has fleas, the tapeworm is caused when a dog/cat ingests a flea when licking or cleaning themselves. Your pet will continue to reinfect himself if you don't get rid of the fleas.
