Small doesn't necessarily mean unhealthy. Sometimes the runt of the litter turns out to be the strongest. However, just keep a eye on the pup. Make sure the breathing is normal, is active as the rest, etc. Remember, pups do sleep a lot. You can even try feeding by bottle and nipple if really necessary, but in most cases it is not. Once again, just keep an eye on him/her. If you really feel there is a concern, you can always call a vet and inquire.

Are puppy mills real?

No. They sell tiny puppies and label them as teacup puppies. But really the puppies grow into poodles or other small toy dogs. there are no breeders for teacup breeds, witch just proves there is no such thing.

What is a teacup puppy?

It means a dog that is much smaller than it should be, sometimes as small as 3lbs. Due to this, teacup puppies are usually unhealthy and are at a much greater risk of medical problems compared to puppies that have been bred with their health being a priority.

My chihuahua just had one puppy?

This is called a singleton puppy. It is not unusual for a dog to give birth to one puppy, but it is uncommon. The average litter is about six puppies, but some dogs may have more or less.Singleton puppies lack the companionship of literates, so they often grow up confused about their position in the "pack", may be over-playful because of the lack of playmates it had as a puppy and may be a little snappy because it didn't have siblings to test its "strength" on (which is a perfectly normal thing for puppies to do). This behaviour is not the fault of the puppy. You can try to find a sibling for the singleton puppy by adopting a stray puppy.

Does a dog eat its puppy?

Yes The most common reason a dog eats a puppy is that the puppy is very small, ill, and not moving around like normal. She might have eaten the first two sick or dying puppies and then developed this habit. Dogs sometimes eat normal puppies, and this usually happens because of stress.

Where does a puppies sleep?

Well, if you have your own puppy then the best place for him/her to sleep us probably a mat or some small bed. You can also buy special beds for puppies so you don't have to worry about that.

Is it safe for puppies to take vitamins for the immune system?

It is not safe to give puppies medication that was designed for human consumption. The dosage would be way off for such a small animal and you can't be sure that you aren't giving your puppy something that will kill it. Take your puppy to a vet to get the appropriate medication.
