Health massage therapy such as deep tissue massage is intended to release adhesion and muscle tensions in a patient's body. Be prepared for any discomforts. Also, expect to experience a few days of tenderness because the muscles are still realigning.
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage in which the therapist goes slower with their massage strokes and more pressure is applied than would be applied in a Swedish Massage. However, if you suspect that there could be a problem, check with your massage therapist, a general practitioner, or go to the emergency room of your local hospital.
Stone massage is a form of bodywork that involves the application of heated or cooled stones (thermotherapy) to the body during deep tissue massage.
