It is not advised that you feed bread to birds, squirrels or any animal.

Bread is not a natural food substance and is high in sodium. The bread itself can become lodged in the throat or digestive tract of the animal and eventually kill it. The sodium in the bread can cause circulatory and heart problems for the animal, bear in mind that their organs are much smaller (therefore weaker) than a human.

The seeds that are used to make bread, such as wheat and barley, are fine to be fed to animals. But once that natural product has been processed into an unnatural product (bread) it is no longer suitable for animals.

Depending on what particular bird you are feeding, buying commercially produced seed cakes and the like will be an enjoyable treat for wild birds, also try carrot (especially with parrots), bread, nuts and certain berries.

i feed the crow is ok, duck may need whole wheat, i usually feed them cat food

Yes perfectly, just don't get too close or you scare them away, don't feed them too big of a portion and don't chase them around throwing it at them.
