Wild rats can look after themselves. But to answer your question, I think they can eat eggs, insects, berrys, seeds, nuts, garbadge, peanut butter (which they love), and cheese. They eat much more too!

∙ 12y agoYou basically keep them on a diet of seeds. its okay if its hamster seeds of other things like it. you also want to find some treats to. be sure to change their food regularly because even if the seeds arent empty it can be timwe to change them because each rat likes and dislikes different kind of seeds. You can find all this stuff at like petsmart or something like that

∙ 14y agoThe best kind of food is Regal Rat food. Another good thing to feed your rat are lab blocks. DO NOT feed your rat seed mix it is not good for them and they only pick out what they like and don't get a balanced diet.
