You can have a small cup of water when your claymaking and moisten your finger and fill up the cracks before they become bigger.
Yes you can, but not too much.Another OpinionYes but it depends on the size. All you have to do is gently push the shells wherever you want on the clay pot and put clay around the edges, so that they won't come off easily.
hey! I'm doing my project on the exact same thing! 1st of all, find a great pic on the internet: it's ur tool! it might help to get some from a bunch of different angles! pick out some shapes you recognize and work from there. good luck!!!
Yes, that is why they are called clay cliffs. When it dries, clay is firm, and forms a soft rock, however it is easily eroded, so clay cliffs are often unstable.
It will almost always crack or break into a million pieces if fired when wet because the water in the clay boils, turns to steam and can't escape fast enough so it blows out the walls of your figure. The moisture must be allowed to escape slowly (usually takes several days of room temperature drying) before heating in a kiln or oven.
no. Latex paint is flexible and remains so after curing. Alkyds dry to a solid, non-flexible surface, causing it to usually crack when put over a latex
Spreads the weight over a larger area so you dont crack or break the roofing tiles, they are made of clay & break easily
so far, it really just depends on your school and if they really crack down.
In most cases you don't need to put your clay pieces directly under the sun and because it is a large clay bowl then you need to take some time drying it because it ought to dry at a common rate through out the bowl other wise it might crack so you need to cover it so it is not exposed to much and then put it in doors and away for a so windy area for it might cause some areas to dry faster than the others leading to cracking. Juts put the large bowl in a corner for example where not so much wind gets to it make sure it is in a clear place so it can get balanced warmth that will make it dry with time.
How plastic a clay is determines how far and how much it can be stretched. For example you would want a clay with a some what height elasticity for wheel thrown pieces but, maybe not so much for sculpture. If a clays elasticity is not high it will crack or break when you try to stretch it
do it theres so much crack floating around that city the cops wont care - Haze

because of the pressure inside the soft drinks, and to prevent that from pressurizing on the glass people use thick glass so when the soft drink starts fizzing it will not put a lot of pressure because the glass is thick or heavy and wont break or crack.
it is not hard, only when put in oven,so it is soft
