to get a tooth extracted with minimal pain you need to go to your dentist and get it removed surgically
See your dentist for an xray and exam. You may have a loose piece of bone or part of the tooth remaining.
No, braces don't have to be removed before a dental cleaning; otherwise, that would be a pain!
Root canals can and are done without anesthetic if a tooth is known to be dead. This can usually be determined *before* the root canal is started. To answer your question, if a tooth is dead and asymptomatic, you may be able to have the procedure without anesthetic but the main reason would be to avoid having a shot and hours of numbness, rather than to "see if you feel pain." I would see an endodontic specialist if possible. It could be, but never let a dentist do a root canal without anesthetic, even if the nerve is removed there is still tissue there which feels pain. I know, I had it done by a dental student. She thought that because the nerve was removed (the week before) I wouldn't feel pain, and her supervisor thought she had given me a local anesthetic.
if you are having severe tooth pain, you should see a dentist. it would usually indicate your tooth is dying or the nerves in your tooth are dying off. Sensitive to hot or pressure will most likely result in a root canal or extraction of that tooth. Waiting for the pain to disappear will only result in future issues. should cold or hot be used to relive pain
Gelfoam is a material placed in a socket where a tooth has recently been removed. It reduces pain and bleeding.

The pic was removed before I left. I experience the same pain I am having now that I experienced while I was in the hospital and I have a reocurring ache when I am tired, not feeling well or have my period.
It could very well be a wisdom tooth trying to cut. When a wisdom tooth begins to cut, it can move several teeth in the process and cause some jaw pain. The ear pain could be drainage if a wisdom tooth is cutting. A few painkillers are your best bet to help the pain, or you could opt to have the wisdom teeth removed surgically. It could also be a sinus infection or infection in a root tooth. A dentist's x-ray is the best plan.
Perhaps it would be reasonable, prudent, normal, and obvious to contact the dentist who removed the wisdom tooth. More often than not, you will find that they are quite sympathetic to your painful plight, and as luck would have it, they have extensive experience in managing painful post-operative complications. More than likely, you have what is known as a 'dry socket'. It is easily managed, but it does require that you see the dentist, preferably the one who took the tooth out.
