i had a guinea pig and we use to put news paper down then a large bedding of straw all over and we put a water bottle onto the side and a bowl that can be eaten because guinea pigs have to constantly gnaw there teeth down, the bowl was made of a special food like dog bones so it takes a while to be eaten.
Buy a new cage becasue then your guinea pig can get worms. Use a GUINEA PIG spray don't use normal guinea pig sprays becasue suprisingly it can hurt a guinea pigs eyes. Give your guinea pig an injection for worms becasue if the guinea pig has been in the cage long becasue this can put a guinea pig in agony. If you don't want to treat your GP then why did you buy an animal you wouldn't risk money for. XXX
No, you have to use a cage with bars and a cage door. Make sure only to use a cage meant for rodents, or a roomy plasic tub, but if you use a plastic tub, DO NOT cover up the opening, because the guinea pig could sufficate.
Just get a big cage from a pet store that has little hiding places in it. Guinea pigs like to hide in small dark places. Rabbit cages would be okay to use too, but make sure you keep your guinea pig inside. Make sure that the bottom of the cage is smooth for the guinea pig. Wire at the bottom of the cage is too hard for it to walk on and painful. Also, get some shavings/bedding (little pieces of cut up wood or get it from a pet store) to line on the bottom of the cage that will make a comfy bed for your pet.
Just watch that the cat doesn't use claws on the guinea pig and don't leave the guinea pig outside the cage unattended and it should be fine
Yes as long as it's big enough for it.
No you can't use kitty liter because it is only uses for cats.
Opinion 1: No, it is nor okay. They can severely damage their feet and can cause a painful infection. Get a cage with no wire floor.Opinion 2:There is absolutely no problem with having a guinea pig cage with a wire floor. Having bred guinea-pigs for a great many years, I can assure you that never once did any of our guinea-pigs suffer any damage at all to their feet as a result of a wire cage.Wire floor cages are necessary in warmer parts of the world where the guinea-pigs spend all their time utdoors. this way, they can still get to the grass underneath the cage, and engage in their natural behaviour, which is to graze. If your guinea poig cage does not have a wire floor, or some other way for the guinea pig to get to the grass, you are depriving it of something which is instinctive. If your guinea pig is a completely indoors guinea pig (which is unnatural in itself), the floor of its cage must be wood or some other sturdy material with no gaps. Wire floor cages are only good if the cage sits flat on the ground.
Yes. Surprisingly my piggy likes it a bit. But they don't need to take a bath that often. Don't just smell your guinea pig's cage, smell your guinea pig itself. Because the reason why your cage could smell it could be just the bedding, not the piggy. Hope this helped! Have a safe and happy guinea pig! But remember make sure the water you use is at room temperature, and do not wet your guinea pig's face.
It is not recommended to use Lysol wipes to clean a guinea pig's cage as the chemicals in the wipes can be harmful to the guinea pig. It is best to use natural and pet-safe cleaning products when cleaning their cage to ensure their health and safety.
You should not keep the cage outside anyway. I suggest getting a new cage and keeping it inside. It may be cold for your guinea pig outside. If you didn't keep the cage outside earwigs would not have got to it.
I need to feed my guinea pig.
go to a hardware store and buy a big sheet of plastic
