Need to know if it has a 2.2 L or the 3.4 L engine.
I had the same problem with my Grand Am and there is a recall on the ignition switch. I had to take the vehicle to an authorized GM dealer and they replaced it for me at no cost.
I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee, and my key fits both the door and the ignition.
they should YES THEY WILL ALL GM CARS THAT YEAR ARE 5X115 (EXAMPLE GRAND PRIX,GRAND AM,ALERO,MALIBU ECT ) ARE ALL THE SAME
all cars start of with matching locks/ignition and key so the ignition or locks must have been changed
its an ignition fuse, i had the same prob with mine
security lock out had same problem with our 2004 grand am
Yes. All GM cars had the ignition and doors keyed the same. They started keying the trunk and doors the same instead some time in the 1970's.
Had the same problem with my Grand Prix, ended up that the ignition switch had to be replaced. Hope this helps.
no grand theft auto is just stealing cars, but felony theft is stealing anything.
The ignition coil is integrated with the distributor cap, they are one unit. On 3.3 Litre at least, probably the other engines too. If there's no coil wire to the distributor (should look the same size as the spark plug wires) then it's a good indication that the distributor is also the coil.
Should be the same key. But people change locks sometimes.
dude...change the ecm and get it over with
