Honestly, with the change in todays recording environment, I would say the Teac or Sony brand of cassette deck would be the best.

Teac-W860R and Sonys TC-WE475 are the considered to be amont the best. Keep in mind that many cassette decks are in decline and that trying to figure out which one is the best can be a bit tricky.
JVC will give you a slightly better sound from the cassette deck than the Teac.
