Adam and Eve were not born into sin. They were the first sinners, and their original sin was recorded in Genesis. Cain, however, was born after sin already existed in the world. He was born sinful, even before he could reason on his own. He was born into a sinful world. His first sin was not recorded in The Bible. Just as every human in current day times has no way of knowing what their very first sin was, Cain didn't know either. It could've been something as simple as disobeying his parents, but we will never really know.

adam and eve

Answer:

This story begins in Genesis 2 and tells of two trees in the Garden of Paradise (Eden). The one which they both could freely eat from was the 'tree of life' which represented obedience to God's revealed will, following His way of life and character forming. The other was the 'tree of the knowledge of good and evil' which they both were forbidden to eat from. This represented them choosing to do it on their own without God - deciding for themselves what is good and evil.

They chose wrongly with Eve being deceived by the serpent (Satan) and giving to Adam who consciously and willingly ate. They both chose the way of the god of this world - Satan and disregarded God their creator. Every human since - except Jesus Christ - has chosen wrongly.

Probably not, it appears Cain committed the first murder, however I think Adam or Eve sinned before Cain

ANOTHER ANSWER:

"...you see, just as DEATH [the penalty for sin; disobeying the Commandments of God - Rom.6:23 & I John 3:4] CAME INTO THE WORLD THROUGH A MAN, ADAM [not Cain], now the Resurrection from the dead has begun through another man, Christ." (I Cor.15:21 NLT New Living Translation)

Of course, "that old Serpent, called the Devil, and Satan..." [Rev.12:9] got to Adam through "Eve"... but in the grand scheme of things, God holds THE MAN directly responsible and accountable to Himself, while the wife is directly accountable to her husband -- both accountabilities in direct relationship to God:

"...you will submit to one another OUT OF REVERENCE FOR CHRIST [who just happens to be the One who MADE THEM - see John 1:3]. You WIVES will submit to YOUR HUSBANDS as YOU DO TO THE LORD. For a husband is THE HEAD OF THE WIFE [not a much appreciated sentiment in our society] as Christ is the Head of His BODY [Christ's WIFE]; He gave His Life to be her Savior. As the church [Christ's Wife] submits to Christ, so you wives must SUBMIT TO YOUR HUSBANDS IN EVERYTHING." (Eph.5:21-24 NLT)

Therefore, it was Adam's responsibility as Eve's Husband, and in his reverence and obedience to Christ [man's Creator God]... not necessarily in that order... to "correct his wife and her errant decision" to obey "that old Serpent" instead of the commands the LORD gave them to OBEY HIM!

"And you husbands MUST LOVE YOUR WIVES with THE SAME LOVE CHRIST SHOWED THE CHURCH. He GAVE UP HIS LIFE FOR HER to make her Holy and Clean, washed by baptism and God's Word... husbands ought to Love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man is actually loving himself when he loves his wife." (verses 25-28)

God's definition of "sin" is "disobedience to His Commandments" [I John 3:4]... and the two people God made [one male and one female] "disobeyed" Christ's command to DO WHAT HE TOLD THEM: to OBEY HIM. And the account reveals that it was Adam's WIFE who made the errant decision to "disobey" the Creator... it's Adam, who went along with her decision, against whom "sin" [mankind's disobedience] is held accountable.

The sin's [disobedience to God's Laws] of Adam and Eve's children [including Cain and all the succeeding generations of mankind] are all secondary to Adam's initial decision to "bow to his wife's bad choice" instead of adhering to God's Command that GOD IS FIRST IN ALL THINGS ["thou shalt have no other gods before Me" -- gods like your wife, children, job, car, house, I-phone, etc]... and that everything else in life is second.

No, Adam was the first human made; the husband of Eve and father of the succeeding generations of his children [all of mankind]. And it was he, as head of his household, who was directly accountable to God to hold his family accountable [as they were, in Christ, directly accountable to him] to OBEY the Creator's Commandments.

"This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way CHRIST AND THE CHURCH ARE ONE. So again I say, 'each man must love his wife and he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.'" (Gal.5:32-33 NLT)

With mankind's utter disrespect and acknowledgment of the Laws of God; it's little wonder that men have so little respect of their wives and children in the world. That is, if there's a man around to be accountable.

Adam found out about it right off, regarding "sin" and his responsibility to God. The rest of the world has to wait for Judgment Day to find out.
