gas pressure
gas pressure
Contact between the particles of a gas and walls of the container cause pressure in a closed container of gas.
collisions between the particles of gas and the container walls

gas pressure
Resultant force of all combined collisions with the walls of the container.

Gas Pressure
If the size of the container is increased atoms have further to travel between collisions with the wall so collisions are less frequent and thus the pressure exerted is reduced.
The molecules of the gas are in constant motion and their collisions with the sides of the container exerts a force which is felt as pressure.
This is not an ideal gas and gas laws are are only approximately applicable.
The particles will gain kinetic energy and will move faster in the closed container. This will increase the number of collisions they make with the walls of the container, thus increasing the pressure.
