It sounds like some sort of lean condition. Perhaps a vacuum leak? Plugged fuel filter?
Unburned fuel in the exhaust system causes the backfire from the exhaust pipe.
Too much PSI.
The primary causes for most stall is either no spark or no fuel. Check to be sure you have spark and fuel, write back and tell us which your car doesn't have as well as which engine and what year car and I will try to give you a better idea of what may be wrong.
It sounds as if the fuel filter is clogged and not getting enough fuel to the injectors.
Dirty fuel filter??
Dirty fuel filter
There are many things that would cause a 1999 Chevy Lumina to stall. The car could be too low on fuel, have a leak in the fuel line, or an old fuel pump or filter.
it something with fuel delivery maybe a bad fuel pump, filter, or fuel pressure regulator
No! A car backfires because unburned fuel is getting to the muffler. The heat of the exhause system causes the fuel to combust, thus a backfire. A bad alternator will just not charge your car battery.
If the car is starving for fuel or air (low power at idle), the car will stall while turning.
Start with replacing the fuel filter, it may be plugged.
Backfire in an LS1 motor can be caused by several factors, including incorrect ignition timing, a vacuum leak, or a rich fuel mixture. If the timing is off, it can lead to fuel igniting too late in the combustion cycle. Additionally, a vacuum leak can disrupt the air-fuel mixture, causing the engine to misfire and backfire. Lastly, a malfunctioning fuel injector or a clogged air filter can also contribute to an improper air-fuel balance, resulting in backfire.
