Axons are located within the neurons and are extremely tiny. They receive information from a neighboring dendrite (also part of a neuron). The axon is surrounded by what is called a myelin sheath--which acts as a sealer for the axon. When the information in the form of electrical signals passes down the axon, the myelin sheath will inhibit the ions from escaping. However, in multiple sclerosis, the myelin on the action is degenerated and cannot perform its incubating function. This causes extreme slowing of the electrical signal, which in turn affects muscles weakness and poor coordination.

Summed up: The myelin sheath is damaged and allows ions to escape the axon. This leads to weakness in muscle and lack of coordination.

What cells are affected by ms?

The cells killed by MS are the schwann cells. These produce the mylein sheath required for propper axon conductance. The mylein sheath is also damaged and destroyed. This causes a loss of conductance in all nerve cells affected. Any nerve cell can be affected by MS.

How do you catch multiple Sclerosis?

No. Its not known what causes MS. We don't know what starts it up or how to tell who will develop it. But we do know that it is not contagious. Its believed that MS has and environmental component as well as a genetic component. There still is no cure for MS but great strides have been made in treating it and making life bearable for those of us living with it. Having MS does not mean what it used to.

How good is Clear for online gaming?

See the Clear Ping and Road Runner Ping from below. I have both currently and was able to plug in and test both on the same comp within a minute of each other. However Road Runner Seems to vary between awesome and absolute crap. I have seen Road Runner be as bad as 200+ ping times reliably for days. Then some time later it magically fixes itself and no I do not torrent. I have had technicians out to my home 8 separate times. If I wasn't a hardcore gamer I would definitely choose clear over road runner. Can you get multiple sclerosis in an accident?

While we still don't know exactly what causes MS, we do know that it is not contagious. You need to have a predisposition to getting it, along with some other environmental factors and an as-of-yet unidentified infectious trigger. Therefore, no, you cannot get MS in an accident.
