A Neon will get hot because it needs its cooling system flushed out and new coolant added.A lot of the time this is caused be the factory installed coolant breaking down or simply wearing out. I know a lot of people who have had this problem, if your shuting the car off and you cand hear the coolent in the overflow tank bubbling replacing your coolent with a new 50/50 mix will help but replace your stock radiator cap for some reason many neons have a problem with a tight cap grap a new one for a few dollars and replace it before it causes major problems it could be thermostate or head gasket
dodge neon is known for a bad head gasket have your machanic check this out radiator needs cleaned out
Rad fan not cutting in. Check its fuse under the hood. Happened to my '02.
There is no valve, it is probably clogged up.
No, it is only "hot" when the computer has actuated the ASD relay.
First check your radiator hoses, then look a the possibility of a bad water pump. You may have warped the engine head and/or blown a head gasket when you ran the engine hot. Pray for the radiator hoses being your only problem.
radio is overheating. go buy a new one
I had the same problem, but I have a 1996, the thermostat had a crack in it. So I took out the cap for the summer. It works, just have to get it fixed by winter.
The brakes could be hanging up. caliper, or hose problem.
Hot pink
there is a sensor that is called a cam positioning sensor it is attached to the engine block which gets pretty hot try changing it. also there is one for the crank.
MY 1995 DAKOTA got hot because the radiator was rusted out. The fins on the radiator would crumble just by touching it. Replaced radiator, problem solved.
Bad fan motor? supply 12V hot to see if it works - if not bad fan motor Bad relay? Bad sensor?
