Bad spark plug wires

Actually I doubt that it's the plug wires. I had the same problem, as have many Ram owners. For some reason Dodge decided to put a steel plenum cover on the bottom of the intake plenum, the problem is that the aluminum plenum and the steel expand at different rates and the gasket get's destroyed in the process. It's really easy to check this. Pull the line to your PC valve if you have a ton of suction at an Idle then this is your problem. Another indication is if your idle speed is up around 1000rpm or you get black smoke when accelerating. It's a cheap part to buy but quite a chore to get to as you have to remove the plenum and everything in the way of it.
