whether or not it's a regular tube type television, or a tube type projection TV with three separate tubes, it's usually due to a shorted gun inside the tube. Sometimes, depending on the set, it might be nothing more than a dirty control as well. t's really difficult to tell without looking at the set and seeing the circuitry to give a `pat' answer to the symptoms.

Some of the other things that could cause the problem are a bad solder connection, loose connector and if you're using input cables from a satellite dish/cable box, it could be nothing more than a loose wiring connection in the RGB cables, S-VHS cables or HDMI input cables.

Is there a way you can add 5.1 audio to Auxiliary Inputs?

Auxiliary inputs to a receiver are always stereo. If you have a 5-channel analog signal (from a computer or other multi-channel device), you will need a receiver with a 5.1 analog input. This has 5 separate RCA inputs for left, right, center, sub, and the two surround speakers. An analog output from a VHS-Hi Fi VCR can be input into the stereo aux inputs of a receiver and decoded to Dolby Surround, but this format is actually only 3 discrete channels, left, right, and surround. It has no separate information for the sub or the center channel, and has a limited bandwidth on the surround channel.

What is a two channel amp?

A two channel amp, in simple terms, means that it amplifies two different inputs channels (left and right usually, or could be front/rear), and outputs them into two different channels. Other types of amps you may run across is a one channel amp, which again amplifies one signal or channel.

How do you link an AV amp with stereo amp?

The left and the right channel inputs of the stereo are combined(to make it in to a single channel so that it can be made compatible with the AV output which is single channeled) and is given to the audio channel of the AV cable. Detailed connection: Each channel consists of a grid and an earth. Combining of channel means, to combine the earth of the left channel with that of the right channel. And similarly grid of the left to the grid of the right. (note that ever and never the grid and earth must be shorted). Confused?? Contact me at niranjan.raguraman@gmail.com

What do you mean by dual channel of cathode ray oscilloscope?

An oscilloscope with 2 vertical inputs that are multiplexed to the CRT, either by chopping them together on every sweep or alternating between them on every other sweep. Some oscilloscopes also support a differential mode where the 2 inputs are subtracted to produce a single combined signal.
