the blue whales would die or become exticted
They're NOT extinct! In fact, their numbers are increasing!
Blue whale hunting was banned in 1966 by the International Whaling Commission. But, by 1970 330,000 blue whales had been caught & killed in the Antarctic, 33,000 in the rest of the Southern Hemisphere, 8,200 in the North Pacific, and 7,000 in the North Atlantic. The largest original population, in the Antarctic, had been reduced to 0.15% its original count. Now that they are protected and hunting is banned, I dont think they will become extinct.
The largest type of living whale is the Blue Whale. It is possible that there might have been another type of whale that was bigger but is now extinct - however the largest known extinct whales such as Basilosaurus - a whale-like cetacean - 40-65 ft (12-20 m) and Livyatan melvillei - an extinct toothed whale from the Miocene - 13.5-17.5 meters, were still smaller than the Blue Whale - up to 29.9 metres (98 ft).
Blue whales are not extinct, but not common either. The world population is only a few thousand.
Because they are endangered and if you don't they will be extinct
PEOPLE KILLED THEM.='.'=
