We'll I had a scoliosis of the spine (a curve in my spine) which caused my spine to look like an S other people's may look like a C but back to the point in scoliosis patient the ribs rotate around to one side of the body this is called a kyphosis or one shoulder may be higher than the other due to the side ways curve. Hope this will help answer your question:-) it is also important to know that a severe scoliosis may crush the heart and lungs, potentially leading to heart problems so it is a good idea to go to the doctors! Also only 4 in 1000 people have scoliosis and it is more common in girls (about 3 in every 1000 girls) I have had the surgery and 4 months post-op and although I can only swim, walk and do phsio therapy for a year I have no regrets. The only downside is that the metal rods are really uncomfortable and the pain after the operation is worse than anyone can imagine (unless they too have had titanium rods drilled into their spine)
