Various factors can contribute to someone becoming superficial and self-centered, such as a focus on material possessions, societal influences that prioritize individualism over empathy, low self-esteem leading to a need for validation from others, or a lack of emotional intelligence. Additionally, past experiences or traumas may shape one's behavior to prioritize superficiality and self-centeredness as a coping mechanism.
