Check to see if your lug nuts are tight

There could be a few reasons. 1 - something is rubbing on it 2 - the surface that the tires are rolling on 3 - you ran over a cat or 4 - the brakes are on
Disc brakes do not have springs to retract the pads form the rotors, therefore they are millimeters from touching and even dust can make them hiss. However if they screech when applying, this is usually the wear indicator rubbing against the rotor warning you to replace the pads.
Question isn't too clear, but chances are your brakes are rubbing.. Definitely not the hardest fix, but that would be the first, if not the only cause of lugs getting hot

ABS brakes are not spongy. If you have spongy brakes the reason is that there is air in the system. You need to have your brakes bled.
If the brakes are too loose that could be a result.
