A bad alterator or voltage regultor
The car wants you to take it to a certified mechanic, for a change.
It's been my experience that problem is usually related to a grounding issue and or bad/loose connections.
if it is effecting all the gauges, check for a loose, freyed or broken ground wire.
because you need hawker system gauges to move it in reverse
It wasnt assembled right
Sometimes the rim isn't tighten all the way which usually causes your shoot to go in and out.
get battery tested. that happen to me. it was the battery
That happens because the engine is overheating. Normal causes are low coolant, bad thermostat, or inoperative fan.

Richey cintorino Check the fusable link, that caused all my guages to go off on my 1987 pickup.
this is common, i have had a few.. its normal for all the gauges to max out then return to normal but to go " crazy " ck battery ground. then if persists pull out control head and ck grds. there. still? send head to spedo. repair shop
you need a new battery.
