Phillip's mother convinced his father to let Phillip, and her go back to their orig anal home. I think it was in Virginia.
Actually, Phillip only went on the boat with his mother. His father stayed back to help with the war. Phillip and his mother went on the ship to get away from the war in Curacao.
In "The Cay," the turning point in Timothy and Phillip's relationship occurs when they are stranded on the cay after their ship is torpedoed. Phillip becomes blind due to an injury, which forces him to rely on Timothy for survival. Through this shared struggle, their relationship grows and they develop a deep bond of trust and dependence on each other.
In Chapter 3 of "The Cay" by Theodore Taylor, Timothy and Phillip continue to struggle to survive on the uninhabited cay. Timothy teaches Phillip survival skills and how to cope with his blindness. The two of them begin to bond and develop a friendship as they work together to overcome the challenges they face.
