A tune-up is needed. From what you say I gather the engine runs sweet enough at revs, higher than park or reverse. That being the case your idle/low end fuel delivery system needs servicing, the higher rev. side of the fuel system and spark are ok.
A car might stall when shifting from park to reverse if the idle is set too low. It is also possible that the engine stalls because it is not fully warmed up before shifting from park to reverse.

adjust the linkage on the trans
Could be a problem with your torque converter
Cylinder miss, broken motor mount, or vacuum leak.
To let others know that you are breaking.
You have to change the gear. It won't do it by itself.
Take it out of reverse.
