erosion built the grand canyon. Erosion makes the canyon bigger and deeper
Canyons are formed by erosion. Rivers that were previously located there slowly wear down rock and form large canyons in the rock.
The Grand Canyon isn't really made "OF" anything... It was formed by The Colorado River's erosion on rock over time. Now the next time your dad tells you not to leave water running you should think of The Grand Canyon and how it was formed. You can get the idea of how erosion works by taking a garden hose and spraying a stream of water onto a dirt patch in your yard. You can make a pretty big hole in the ground by spraying it with a narrow stream setting on the hose. The Grand Canyon was form pretty much the same way, but over a very long time . There are places where the canyon floor is 1 mile deeper than the canyon rim. This was all accomplished by the Colorado River slowly eroding many layers of solid rock....now go make sure the hose is off!
Usually by the erosion of a river wearing down the soil and rock for millions of years, like the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon.
wind moves the air which causes friction against the soil so it slowly erodes away.
Erosion
The Grand Canyon was created mostly by water erosion over millions of years as a river carved out the relatively soft limestone and other soft rock material in the area. Air erosion adds to the look of the canyon in the areas where the water no longer affects it.
A mature stream causes more erosion than a young stream, due to the pure fact that theres more curve in a mature stream causing the sediments to shift more frequently.
The evidence that scientist have that erosion works slowly over a long period of time is that Arizona is the result of close to three million years of erosion.
I don't have a cliff, the land has cliffs which were formed from erosion, this is why many cliffs are next to oceans, or take the grand canyon, it used to be a roaring river that slowly died down, but not before creating a giant gap in the land...
earthquakes erosion plate movement ect.
Erosion does not make soil, but rather removes it. Erosion is the process of wearing away or transport of soil and rock particles by wind, water, or ice. This can result in the loss of topsoil, which is the fertile layer of soil rich in nutrients.
