The Saturn L series didn't come out until 2000. Before then Saturn only made the S series. I just thought I would add something regarding a 1997 s-series. They did have a recall on the fuel pump/filter (the one that is located in the gas tank) I was sent a letter regarding the recall and then I just had to take it in for a service at Saturn for the free replacement on the recall.

Just get someone to plug in a code reader to tell what is probably malfunctioning. Others have said that Autozone may provide this service for free (and try to sell you the needed parts). I went and bought a code reader that lets me reset the light after fixing the problem. If you reset a light, it will go on again if you did not fix the right thing. Code reader is the trick here…
