My 73 390 ticks after replacing heads, cam, lifters, rods, valves springs. i think it has to do with central oiling system that runs to the cam bearings first. These babbet covered copper bearings are really weak and will kill your top end oil pressure if even slightly damaged. Also valve stacking and complete valvetrain meltdown can occurr. I'm considering porting my oil passages out to 1/2" or better. I think the oil pressure increase will help with the chattering noise.
It's a rocker arm tapping at valve stem. Hydraulic lifters (hydraulic rocker mounts) are the common reason for the ticking. If it doesn't go away when the engine heats up, consider replacing the lifter where the ticking comes from.
The power of the engine of the ford bronco 8cyl 1966 is 200 hp
The ticking noises is the lifters slamming into the valves. They are not receiving the amount of oil they require to lubricate properly. Either the oil level is very low or something else is seriously wrong. Continuing to run the engine like this will lead to very early engine failure.
You should have an auto mechanic check the car or take to the Ford dealership.
