Voice Cracking in Males during puberty is the growth of fat tissues around the vocal chords.
A person's voice usually cracks from their throat being dry. Drinking plenty of fluids will help keep the throat lubricated to help prevent the voice from cracking.
"Cosmetic surgery to reduce the size of a laryngeal prominence is called chondrolaryngoplasty (thyroid chondroplasty).[1] This surgery may change the patient's voice and cause permanent damage, as well as leave a visible scar." -Wikipedia
The Adam's apple is just the visualization of the thyroid cartilage. It occurs in men because the larynx enlarges during puberty. This is also why a man's voice is lower than a woman's. If a boy is going through puberty and his larynx doesn't lengthen, or if it doesn't lengthen much, he may not develop a viable Adam's apple and his voice would remain higher than it would have otherwise.
During the night, your throat can get dry due to breathing while asleep. Especially if you breathe through your mouth while sleeping.
Male's voices are deeper because of testosterone. This is a chemical (hormone) in our bodies that changes us during a stage called puberty. It causes the vocal chords to thicken, and your voice box (larynx) grows and in some men becomes quite evidently pronounced. If you've seen men with a huge bump sticking out of their neck, it probably means they have a deep voice. It's an adam's apple. But the size isn't significant. Take Cristiano Ronaldo for example. His adam's apple is very noticeable (and in my opinion quite horrible to look at) but Barry White's was not and yet look at his famous low key singing! Women also do have adam's apples but they are very rarely as pronounced as most men, and also women's voices only drop a semitone or two, while men's can drop as much as an octave during latter stages of puberty. Sorry if I droned there, just wanted to get as much info as I could there.
When it starts cracking(squeaking).
'Voice breaking'.
During puberty signs of voice changes, are the "cracking" of the voice, this is caused by the unsteadiness of the voice, since it is new and the holder isn't use to it. The final pitch is usually obtained by age 15 in males.
You know ehen your voice is "cracking" when it keeps changing in pitch. As a boy you have a higher picthed voice than an adult man but during puberty your larynx (also called the Adam's Apple or Voice box) grows larger and the pitch of your voice gets lower. At some point you'll think that your voice has "broken" and has gotten permenantly lower, then right in the middle of a sentence it can suddenly "crack" and sound high pitched again. This period of sudden and unpredictable "cracking" of your voice can last for a few months until it eventually settles down to a lower adult pitch.
The testosterone produced in the testicles are what cause the voice to change during puberty.
During puberty it is normal for the male voice to deepen, about one octave. Adult pitch is "usually" reached at about age 15, but not for all males. The deepening of the voice is cause by the growth of the larynx (voice box).
You are dying.
During puberty, boys experience a significant increase in the size of their larynx (voice box) and vocal cords due to hormonal changes, which causes their voice to deepen. This results in a lower pitch compared to girls who do not experience the same level of vocal cord growth during puberty.
A boys voice changes during Puberty. It generally gets lower in tone.
It doesn't. Females voiced don't change during puberty. Males voices become deeper during puberty.
The balls of boys drop during infancy. Voice change happens during puberty and is related to the hormones produced by the testicles. Testicles that are taken out before puberty can affect the voice change of a boy.
Unfortunately there is nothing much you can do to prevent your voice from cracking. It is a natural part of going through puberty, and will be over in a few months, but in the meantime you just have to suffer through it.
