Pablo Picasso died in 1973. He was not buried in a cemetery but was buried in the grounds of his own estate, known as the Chateau of Vauvenargues, in the village of Vauvenargues, which is near the town of Aix-en-Provence in the south of France.
Although the chateau is in private ownnership, it is open to public visitors for a few months each summer. Picasso's grave is outside the main entrance of the chateau building.
