What age is necessary to become a teachers assistant?

In my opinion, a qualified Teacher's Assistant requires the appropriate training, education and experience that leads to a certificate which is what is usually needed by employers in order to be able to place an individual in such position. There is really no discrimination in the age factor as long as the individual has the knowledge, skills and education needed to be a Teacher's Assistant. I would not trust my child with an unqualified Teacher's Assistant. Same goes with Daycare Staff, Teachers, Driver Instructor, etc. If a 16 year old went to school and completed the necessary course to become a Teacher's Assistant and acquired a certificate for it, that is good enough. However, if a 30 year old adult has been volunteering side by side with a teacher for years but has no certificate, I would recommend the course be taken before he/she is considered or hired as a Teacher's Assistant.
