In the Twilight Series (Especially New Moon) there is a rivalry between Edward Cullen (The Vampire) and Jacob Black (Werewolf a.k.a. shapeshifter) on who would get Bella. In the end Edward Cullen (of course) gets Bella and Jacob imprints on Renesmee; Bella's hybrid baby. So fans (mostly female) started to judge the whole series on who they would pick if they were in Bella's place. Edward is a vampire. Although Jacob is a werewolf, he is more human than Edward is. Edward means that Jacob can give Bella a normal human life, a normal human marriage, a normal human family and a normal human death. Edward reckons that by turning Bella into a vampire, it will get rid of her soul and she'll live immortally forever with Edward, which is what she wants. Although to a certain extent, this isn't what Edward wants for Bella, even though he wants to stay with her forever, no matter how old she gets.
