Richard Dawkins views religion (particularly revealed religion) as being more harmful than helpful to humanity, and inimical to human life and progress. He is one of a relatively new brand of scientists who believes that science has been too accommodating to religion for too long, and that science does, indeed, have something to say about God(s) and morality.
Dawkins simply states facts the way he and many others see them. Adjectives like aggressive are an interpretation of the state of mind of the listener not the speaker. Dawkins' training is in science where all things are put to rigorous tests. Proposals which do not meet these tests are discarded. Religious proposals - gods, the effectiveness of prayers, miracles do not pass these tests and are rightfully dismissed. If there is any "tone" to Dawkins it is frustration that proofs are not accepted much like Sagan talking to his neighbor about the dragon in the neighbor's garage (see Link)AnswerTo add to the above answer, Richard Dawkins and other scientists, philosophers, and intellectuals who are counted among the New atheists, find mainstream science too accommodating to religion for financial reasons. Also they see that religion has done and is doing much more harm in the world than good. To quote Victor J. Stenger; "Science flies men to the moon, religion flies men into buildings".

Selecting A Charity To Give ToOne of the most important aspects of selecting a charity is to know that your money is being used to help whatever cause you are supporting. Some charities have very high administrative costs, and very little of the donations actually go toward whatever cause the charity is about. There are also those who pose as charities who are not charities at all. With that in mind, you should determine what cause you want to support and whether you want to support a local or more far-reaching cause. Find out what charities are available, and then do your research to make sure the charity is legitimate and that the administrative costs, which sometimes can be over 90%, are not taking more of your donation than what is being used for the cause.More Advice:You might also consider the ones that always call on the phone, but if you do not want them to continue calling, do not donate. Otherwise, they will never stop calling. The cancer charities are usually good and the blind ones, too. Choose the one you feel most comfortable about.
