Swine Flu has been widespread in the US, with California as one of the earliest and hardest hit states. All cities of significant size in all US States have had at least one case of the flu and probably many.
As of January 2010, there had been a total of 10,031 cases and 470 deaths reported for California. It has been estimated by the CDC that many more cases have occurred than have been confirmed by laboratory testing or medical diagnosis, therefore these figures are suspected of being low estimates of the actual numbers.

No it is not a lot of people have still got swine flu. Even the news is no doubt still going on about it.
"The shot" is a vaccine for the swine flu. If you get the vaccine, then, in theory, you don't get the swine flu. If you didn't get it, then you didn't "survive" it, because "surviving" it means that you got the disease but didn't die from it. So, zero is the answer. On the other hand, the swine flu is no more deadly than the common flu, so the vast majority of the people who got the swine flu survived it.
