Depends on application. I wouldn't buy the same truck for severe duty, off-road driving that I would for OTR line haul use. Not to mention I'd try for something 2001 or older, in part, because that's all pre-emissions, and also in part because I wouldn't be required to have the stupid e-logs and EOBR in it. If I had to buy a brand new truck, and were going for OTR line haul, I'd probably opt for either the Freightliner Coronado or the Kenworth T680, assuming I was just pulling statutory, 80k gross weight loads. If I was doing O/D loads over-the-road, the Peterbilt 389 or Kenworth W900L would be more to my liking, although the Freightliner Coronado would do well at it, too.
