The 9th grade through 12 years you will have a set of required subjects you have to take to graduate high school. Basically you don't get to choose much in your classes. Lawyers need a lot of history classes because law is based on history and pass decisions made by courts. If you can take AP classes in your high school that will help you to prep for college. You will need to it a BS/BA in a university, take the LSAT test to get into law school, and the spend another 4 years in law school. The last requirement is taking the Bar exam. I suggest you read a lot in the next 4 years, learn to think critically, and by the time you leave high school know how to do a research paper of 20 or more pages plus biographies . Good foundation books are the Asent of Man, Connections, and various books on history. Watch the movie Mind Walk. Expand your mind with going to historical places and museums. You can never learn too much and don't depend on school teaching you everything you need to know. You have feet, you have a brain, so get moving to learn.

It's important as you should try to choose subjects that are relevant to the career you want to do later in life. Similarly, universities or colleges may require that you have taken certain subjects in order to be accepted to do your chosen course. For example, if you wanted to be a doctor then you would ideally choose science related subjects in school.
If you have already chosen your high-school classes, it does not necessarily mean that you have passed the 8th grade, because you can choose your subjects even before the release of your results.
Different law schools will have different entrance requirements. In general,a law school applicant needs to have a high grade point average, as law schools are very competitive.
