What temperature is coffee when you add milk to it?

It is often recommended that instant coffee be made with hot but 'not boiling' water. If you add hot water first, the coffee will be less than 100 C. If the milk is colder than the coffee liquid, the drink will get cooler slightly, when you add the milk, depending on how much cold milk you put in. If the milk is hot, you will probably not notice any change in temperature, if there is indeed any change. On the other hand, if you make coffee by first adding milk to the dry instant coffee granules, the coffee will be at room temperature just before you add the milk, and it will rise or fall towards the milk's temperature when the milk as added. Even filter coffee, i.e. made with coffee grounds, will be a little less than 100 c by the time you add the milk.

What is the way to make cold coffee?

Cold coffee can be made by letting hot coffee cool. If you are going to use it for iced coffee it's recommended that you double brew: once you have brewed coffee put it in the coffee maker in place of coffee, add more grounds, and brew. You can speed up the cooling process by putting the hot coffee in the fridge or freezer.

How do you make ice coffee?

Brew a pot of fresh coffee using 2 tablespoons of dark-roasted coffee ground per cup. Transfer the hot coffee to a carafe or pitcher. Let the coffee stand at room temperature for 3 to 5 hours, or refrigerate it until cold, about 1 and a half to 3 hours. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the chilled coffee into the glass. Stir the coffee to equalize its temperature. Add milk if you like.

Can you put instant coffee in a coffee maker?

It is a bad idea. Hot water, straight from the faucet, contains more dissolved minerals (calcium, assorted salts, etc) than cold water does. It's simply because of the temperature...more solids can be dissolved in hot water than in cold. The same minerals that cause the scaling and "hard water" deposits in your bathtub will also clog up your Mr. Coffee. There are coffee machine cleaners (chemicals) that help remove these deposits, but eventually they'll build up so badly that the machine is ruined. Using hot water, rather than cold, will ultimately shorten the life of your coffee maker.
