It depends on which state/jurisdiction you want to be an architect. In most US states, you don't actually need a degree. You can start working, and work for 11 years in paid-internship. You can reduce the amount of time required by attending an NCARB accredited school and earn a B. Arch or M. arch degree. The National Architectural Accrediting Board lists which schools have earned accreditation.
