Yes
Cheerleading was invented in 1898 by Johnny Campbell.
We are still researching. All I know is that cheerleading was not created by a female, but a male. The male called his squad yell-leaders. The reason he called his squad that is because they had a mega-phone and they would yell out quotes. This was then in the 1930s when yell-leaders were created by a male. Yell-leaders did not do any back-flips, or the splits. They yelled. Duhh. So cheerleaders are very, very, verry different. This is all I got. I hope you learned a lot about yell-leaders.

Cheerleading originated in the United States in the late 19th century, with its roots traced back to 1898 when a group of students at the University of Minnesota led by Johnny Campbell organized the first cheer. This event marked the beginning of organized cheerleading, which evolved over the years to include more elaborate routines and stunts. The practice gained popularity at college football games and eventually expanded to high schools and professional sports.
The very first organized and recorded cheer squad was in the 1800's on an American College Campus !
Well I dont think theres just a womens cheerleading because a man (Johnny Campbell) was the first person to start cheering.
Cheerleading began in 1898 Johnny Campbell had the bright idea to organize a six-member group of yell-leaders to raise spirit. The first all-star cheer team was 1983 by Hilda McDaniel and did you know women were allowed to cheer only in 1923?
