depending on your education , and school you are going to be educated at,
you would probably need to study 4 years of school and get paid $75.00 an hour for you first year and also $85.00 for the freelance years, and would have to take drawing classes, scale models, business classes (depending) , and also sometimes marketing.
i hope i helped!

they design the inside of house.
hints the word interior. "in" :P Interior designers need to take art classes, drawing classes (still life, sketching, scale models). Business classes would be good as well. Marketing would not hurt either.
In 47 states, there are no legal qualifications to practice interior design or call yourself an interior designer. Only Florida, Nevada and Lousiana limit the practice of interior design to only those who have a combination of 6 years education and experience plus have passed the NCIDQ. (Note: Florida law is currently being challenged in the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals).
It really depends on the state you live in. I live in Texas and they no longer require any degree to call yourself an interior designer or practice. However, there is a strong difference between interior decorator and interior designer. Interior decorators simply do as what they are; they decorate. Change paint color, restain a few furniture pieces, go to Hobby Lobby for accessories. Interior designers design the way the furniture is going to look. They decide how the paint is going to look on the wall. They decide the design and pattern for the flooring. You could compare it to a makeover salesperson at the mall and the make-up artist that designs women's faces for fashion shows. There is a BIG difference. I am what is considered an interior designer. I have went to school at a CIDA (Council for Interior Designer Accredation) accredited school and received my bachelor's of science in interior design. This part is a requirement if you are looking to become a licesenced interior designer. Having a liscense is important because it backs your credentials and you will be able to practice commercial design. I would recommend in any state you live in to at least have a 4 year CIDA accredited interior design degree to at least back up what your natural talent might be. Otherwise, people might not put their trust in you as a designer. Believe me, trust from a client is 80 percent of your business. If you have the degree, if you want to later on, you can get your NCIDQ licensing and work on commercial design. Hope this helps!

OF COURSE! And, if there aren't any other Interior Designers in your area, then you'll have a niche on the market. But, if it's very rural, then you may need to travel to job sites. Or you can be contract employee for firms that are in more populated areas and submit your work online or via FedEx.
They have to talk to them a lot because the interior designers need to tell them what to do and if they are doing in it correctly. I know this because I did a research on interior designer because that's what I want to be when I grow up. so the answer is yes.
