To be the governor of the colony of New Netherland
Stuyvesant is the man who bartered the rights to Manhatten for $24 in trade goods. He established the colony of New Amsterdam which eventually became New York. One of my ancestors was met at the pier by Governor Stuyvesant.
He was governor of New Amsterdam, which was located on Manhatten Island.(New York) They had very valuable profits, and the English wanted it. So they attacked the land, and the governor, Peter Stuyvesant was unaware of it, he surrendered the land to the English.

Peter Stuyvesant served as the governor of New Netherland for approximately 17 years, from 1647 until the English seized the colony in 1664. His tenure was marked by efforts to strengthen the colony's defenses and improve its economy, as well as challenges with relations among diverse groups within the colony. In 1664, New Netherland was captured by the English and renamed New York.
