The devil fish - aka giant devil ray (Mobula mobular) has a gray to black top with a mostly white belly.

Note - other fish sometimes referred to as "devil fish" include:

• Manta ray (Manta birostris): black back and pale belly
• Inimicus didactylus aka Demon Stinger or Devil Stinger: gray with blackstripes
• Southern blue devil, Paraplesiops meleagris: deep blue, bluish, or blue-brown in colour with a scattering of brighter blue spots
• Paraplesiops bleekeri, aka eastern blue devil, blue-tipped long-fin or Bleeker's blue devil fish: blue and white bands on the body, blue spots on the head, blue dorsal and anal fins, yellow base, pectoral, and caudal fins
• Sea devils (family of deep sea anglerfish known as the Ceratiidae): black to dark grey
• Black seadevils (deep sea fishes of the family Melanocetidae): various colors ranging from reddish to grey, to brown, to black.
