It can range between being deep red, to a lighter red or even to a more brindle colour with it being a mixture between red and black. It should not be too light, because that can be an indication of illness. The health of a Staffie can also be checked by pressing on the gums until it is white and then releasing it. The red colour should then return immediately as a sign of good blood flow.

Puppies with different color noses can happen in any litter, they aren't rare, or unusual. Noses can be red, brownish, blue, black, or mottled. It doesn't matter at all.

What types of Pit bull are there?

This question is rather open as it does not indicate what you mean by "type." Do you mean as in color? (e.g. red nose, blue nose, etc.) Do you mean by bloodline? (e.g. Greyline, Jeep, Gotti, etc.) Do you mean by use? (illegal gaming/fighting versus weight-pulling, obedience, etc.) Do you mean by its confusion with Staffordshire Terriers? Do you mean by its official classification? (dog registries, etc.) The American Pit Bull Terrier (herein referred to as APBT), contrary to the answers that were originally listed, is, indeed a breed of dog. The term "Pit Bull" does NOT apply to Dogo Argentino, Cane Corso, etc. Those dogs may have similar characteristics to APBT but are not the same dog. The Dogo Argentino is a dog that has a conglomeration of different breeds to create what it is today. As history would have it, the Staffordshire Terrier developed the APBT breed. There are true Staffordshire breeders out there, and the Staffordshire Terrier is the only "pit bull" type of dog recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC). History states that the Staffordshire created the APBT in that the Staffordshire was continued to be bred as it stands now, and branches of the Staffordshire spouted off for utility dogs becoming the APBT. There are different "types" of APBT, however. "Blue Nose Pit Bull" is not a breed. It's a Pit Bull exhibiting bloodline characteristics of a "blue nose." The same goes for a "red nose." Some of these characteristics are more prominent in certain bloodlines - as would characteristics for any other breed of dog. (Example - aka no such thing as a "John Smith bloodline." I am using this as an example statement: "John Smith bloodlines create a bigger head on dogs" or "Jane Doe dogs have more of a working drive than John Smith dogs.") NEW ANSWER The term "pitbull" usually refers to the following 3 breeds: 1. American Pitbull Terrier 2. American Staffordshire Terrier 3. How many puppies do English bull terriers have?

The Bulldog and The English Terrier- (now extinct) originally known as the Bull-and-terrier. The pure white English Bull Terrier was bred by Mr James Hinks a dog dealer from Birmingham between 1850 and 1862. Due to the white bull terrier having problems with deafness breeders experimented with cross breeding the white bull terrier back with its coloured decendants to get the brindle or red coat.

What do you call a mix of a blue pit and a red nose?

No matter the color, it will be called an American pit bull terrier.

What kinds of pitbulls are there?

There are more than one kind of "pit bull." The range goes from the American Bull Dog all the way to the Stafordshire Terrier and much, much more. For more information you can go on google and try to find a list.

How do you find out what type of pit bull you have?

Look at it. Does it look like its head belongs on a much bigger dog? And its eyes face to the side? That would be a Bull Terrier. Does it look like the most common, but smaller? American Staffordshire bull terrier. Or is it the most common looking? About 70, or 80 lbs.? American Stafforshire pit bull terrier. The fourth, American Pit, is not real common anymore. I have not seen or heard of one of those in quite some time. Now, if you have the most common, it's markings, and nose will tell the tale. The American Staffordshire Pit bull terrier, will either be brindle, the brown stripes, and a black nose. That would be a Brindle. A red, or pink, nose is a red nose. If the dog is grey, or a real light brown, and the nose looks black, that would be a blue nose. A pit has to have white on their head somewhere. A white chest, and at least 1 white paw, to even be considered, as a purebred. The white comes from it heritage. The white terrier, which is now extinct, by the way. The other half of their blood comes from the English bulldog.........Chuck.

What are the Names of types of pit bulls?

There are 4. The Spuds Mckinzie type. They are little, and have the big head. Those are Bull Terriers. Then, there is the "American pit bull terrier", which I have not seen, or heard of in quite some time, although I am sure they are still around. Then there is the most common show/fight dog, which is the "American Staffordshire bull terrier", and a miniature version of those called "American Staffordshire Bull Terrier," which these days, people are calling them "pocket pits." Now, there are sub catergories that brak down like this. And, as far as I know, these only apply to the most common, the Am Staff. A brindle, a red nose, and a blue nose. There is only a difference of colors, and markings, on those, however, they say the red nose is the meanest/toughest, but I don't really know about that. They are, however the most common when it comes to fighting. The blue nose are getting a bad rep. right now do to poor breeding techniques. They all can be mean, if they have bad owners, and all are tough. I do remeber, vaguely, before I got into them, something about a "red tip", which was supposed to have 5 red points. 2 eyes, a red nose, and 2 red tipped ears. But, I have not seen, or heard of one of those, since I was a kid....Chuck.
