Generally they are red, black, white, yellow, or brown. It depends on what seahorse type you get as to what color it is, honestly. Mine was black and he turned yellow in different tanks.

A male seahorse is a male seahorse.
Both the male and female seahorse are colorful during mating. They change to bright colors during their courtship. The male turns orange and the female turns pink. At other times the seahorses change color to blend into their surroundings.
I think you mean camouflage. And no. They may change color to their environment, but they do not camouflage in manners like a chameleon will.
