Galvanized for water, black for gas. You can always paint the black if you are worried about it rusting. That would depend on local codes as many do not allow the use of galvanized and other codes state "where moisture is present galvanizing coating shall be applied. There is no one code that fits all as some codes follow OSHA guide lines when it comes to color coding of piping so painting black is NOT always an option
